Summer- If you are planning a trip to Jaisalmer, keep your summer vacations booked for another place. The temperature soars up to 44 degrees making the heat unbearable without any respite from the rain.
Monsoon- The temperature drips down a bit but the humidity shoots up thus the downpour provides only momentary relief from the heat. A trip to Jaisalmer is less feasible and more tiring during both summer and monsoon months.
Winter- As autumn hits, the month of September until Mid March makes Jaisalmer, a warm and welcoming city. The pleasant weather during the month of October and the camel ride across the vast stretch of the desert under the starry night is an indelible experience. However, the best time to hit the golden city is during the annual Jaisalmer Desert Festival held during February or Late January.

The city is full of tourist attractions with several promising spots. But there are few must-visit places in the princely state which should not be missed at any cost. The Jaisalmer Fort is also known as Sonar Quila or Golden Fort because of its golden sandstone is a perfect escape into the heritage of Rajasthan. A vision of Raja Rawal Jaisal built in 1156 AD, the fort has been a witness to many battles with Mughals, Tughalaqs, Khiljis and Rathore Kings.
The preserved destroyed tanks from the battlefield makes Longewala War Memorial not a mere destination, but trigger an inclination towards the archives to know the sacrifices that built our nation.
It is yet another magnificent structure with intricate carvings on its walls offering a traditional retreat into time. Walking through the Haveli is an experience that walks you back into the life of Maharaja through the small details of his lifestyle.
Also known as Gadariya Lake, this man-made lake was built around the 12th- 13th century. Catch a pleasant sight of the migratory birds swinging and swimming around the lake. If you are in Jaisalmer, witness the sunrise at the Gadsisar lake amidst the peace and solace laced in this place.
