Summer Season-It starts in late March and lasts till the end of June. It is not the best time to visit MP as you will feel really hot during the day. How to Reach Madhya Pradesh

By Air-The major airports are the Devi AhilyabaiHolkar Airport (IDR), Raja Bhoj International Airport (BHO) in Bhopal, Dumna Airport (JLR), Gwalior Airport (GWL), and Khajuraho Airport (HJR). They have scheduled flights to major cities in India. We can say MP has good connectivity by Air. It is better to take a flight from Bangalore to Madhya Pradesh.

By Road-MP has over 4,948-km long rail networkand the Central Railway and the Western Railway zones also cover parts of the state. Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and GaribRath express are the major trains to its central location. Additionally, MP has a total of 20 major railway junctions.

Located 55 kms north-east of Bhopal city, the SanchiStupawas specially made by the emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BC. It is one of the ancient stone structures in India and a Buddhist pilgrimage site. You can witness the most antique well-preserved stupas this is why it is considered a must-visit tourist attraction. The southern gate of Stupa No 1has representations of the story of the Buddha's relics, starting with the War over the Relics and theStupa No2 was established later which shows the earliest architectural ornaments.SanchiStupa in Bhopal is mainly built during the Mauryan dynasty rule.

Udayagiri Caves


Udayagiri is a historical Hindu ritual site that boasts twenty rock-cut cavesnear Vidisha and they hold some of the ancient surviving Hindu temples and iconography in India. One of the caves dedicated to Jainism too that is notable for one of the oldest known Jaina inscriptions from 425 CE. Other Hindu Caves feature inscriptions from 401 CE. All these caves contain iconography of Vaishnavism (Vishnu), Shaktism (Durga and Matrikas) and Shaivism (Shiva). You can also witness many rockshelters and petroglyphs, ruined buildings, inscriptions, water systems, fortifications and habitation mounds.

Bharat Bhavan


Bharat Bhavan is multi art centre that makes communicating proximity between the verbal, visual and performing arts. There are several facilities are available at Bharat Bhavan. It was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India, Mrs. Indira Gandhi on 13th February 1982 and funded by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. It has an art gallery, a fine art workshop, an open-air amphitheatre, a studio theatre, an auditorium, a museum of tribal and folk art, and libraries of Indian poetry, classical music as well as folk music.

Bhojpur Temple


Located in Raisen District, Bhojpur Temple is a large heritage temple of Lord Shiva and is known as the Somnath of the East and is called Bhojeshwar Temple.It was founded by the Parmar king of Dhar, Raja Bhoj (1010-53).Its magnificent remains of the Shiva Temple and Cyclopean dam make it an archeological site. This temple is one of the premium examples of temple architecture of the12th and 13th centuries. You can also witness a few unfinished statues of Shantinath, Suparshvanatha, and Parshwanath in a Jain Temple.

Bhimbetka Cave Paintings


Located in the foothills of the Vindhya Range and approximately 28 miles (45 km) south of Bhopal, in west-central Madhya Pradesh state, Bhimbetka rock shelters contain around 700 shelters. It is one of the largest repositories of prehistoric art in India and is encircled by the Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary. The shelters are the world’s utmost testimonies to the first traces of homosapiens. In addition, this place is designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage site in 2003. Witness the sketch of the human journey from the Palaeolithic Age to the Medieval Period. The Bhimbetka caves brag geometric figures, linear representations, and paintings that are more than 30,000 years old. The major highlights include silhouetted paintings of elephants, tigers, peacocks, bulls, and some 16 different species as well as drawings of humans, dancing figures of men and women, etc.
