Top Five Spots In Kerala For Nature Lovers

Hey there! If you're looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature, we've got some great places in Kerala for you to visit.

Kerala is a beautiful state on the west coast of India that's known for its backwaters and beaches. If you're looking to get away from it all, these are our top five spots in Kerala for nature lovers:

Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve

This reserve is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site but also one of the most biodiverse areas in India overall—with over 4200 plant species alone! If you're looking to get out into nature while still getting some culture on your trip to Kerala, then this is definitely worth considering as a destination.

Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary:

This sanctuary is home to many species of birds, mammals, reptiles and insects including the Indian elephant, sambar deer, gaur (Indian bison), spotted deer and wild boar. It's also home to several endangered species including the Nilgiri tahr, grizzled giant squirrel and lion-tailed macaque. The sanctuary was established in 1969 as an area for protecting wildlife.

Anamudi Peak

Anamudi Peak is one of the highest mountains in the Western Ghats, with an elevation of 2695m above sea level. It's a challenging hike—even for experienced hikers—but it's worth it for the view from the top! (You can also take an easier route up.)

Munnar

Munnar is a hill station located in the Western Ghats at an altitude of 914 meters above sea level in Idukki district of Kerala, India. It is situated on the Western Ghats range at Kannan Devan Hills (also known as Anamudi Peak), which is part of the Sahyadri mountain range at Palakkad Gap. The area covering about 20 km has tea plantations, large cardamom estates and pepper farms. It is known for its scenic views from atop its surrounding hills and valleys.

Vembanad Lake:

Vembanad Lake is one of the largest lakes in India and it is located in the Alappuzha district of Kerala. The lake has many small islands which are surrounded by dense vegetation, making it a perfect place for nature lovers. The lake also attracts many tourists from all over the world every year due to its beauty and serenity which makes it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kerala.
