Early morning at 4:00 am drive to Tiger hill to watch the sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga (28,208 ft. World’s 3rd highest peak), on your way back visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop.
After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda (4 hrs from 9.00 to 13.00 hrs). Gangtok, located at an elevation of 1750m, became the state capital in the mid-19th century and has experienced rapid growth since. It is dominated by huge government buildings decorated with traditional Buddhist symbols in its downtown area. Gangtok is an important stopover for North Sikkim travellers. Surrounded by monasteries and orchids, it is a true traveller's delight.
After breakfast proceed for Full day city tour(Starts 8:30 Am-4:00PM) covering Tashi view point,Ganesh Tok & Hanuman Tok, Ranka Monastery, Banjhakri Falls, Cottage Industry and Handicraft center ,Dro-dul Chorten,Institute of Tibetology and Flower show and then back to your hotel. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
After breakfast proceed for an excursion to Changu Lake (12,312 ft.) & Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) which is 55 kms from Gangtok city each way (Starts 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM). Then back to your hotel. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Optional tour to Nathula Pass (Alt 14000Ft.) on China Border can also be arranged (Except Mon, Tue) for Indian Nationals only at an additional cost & documents required 7 days prior to departure for Nathula pass. Please note Nathula Pass permits are issued on the day of travel only as per availability and once the permit is issued the amount will be non refundable.
After breakfast checkout from hotel and proceed for Kalimpong.
Kalimpong is situated at an altitude of 1250 meters, making it a pleasant place for a relaxing vacation. Its clement weather allows for cultivation of orchids and gladiolus. Up until the early 1700s, the Kalimpong area was held by the Sikkim king. The Bhutan king took over the town in the early 18th century. In 1865, after the Anglo-Bhutan War, the town became part of Darjeeling. Scottish missionaries first came here in the late 1800s. The town grew into a wool trading center for Tibet until the 1950s.
In the afternoon, visit Zang Dog Palri Fo Brang Monastery, Tharpa Choling Monastery, Thongsa Gumpa and flower nurseries in Kalimpong. Overnight at the hotel.
Your memorable tour comes to an end after breakfast as you will be transferred to the airport/railway station to catch your flight/train to your next destination.
